To Boldly go……

Space. The last frontier….or our next endeavour. This year marks the 60th aniversary of the first sucessful launch into orbit. On 4th October 1957 Sputnik 1 was launched by the soviets. Since then, the advances has been fast during the first two decades, to fade into a more normal pace during the following years.

The noises about returning to the Moon or tho colonize Mars are growing. The fact that private entrepreneurs jump to the space race could add some color to this, …

But really are we prepared to support, as a society, the effort to colonize our Solar System??

Are we ready to start allocating hughe resources to jump from one plane civilization to a solar system one?

And finally, are we ready to start seriously thinking about a journey beyond our beloved Solar System?

This info graph shows the exploration effort in our Solar system… Lets see this in a couple of decades, including the permanent colonies….

How we waste food…..

Even if hungry is being slowly erradicated in the planet, it is incredible how much food we waste in the «first world».

New channels of distribution should be implemented to reduce this waste and make food available in the parts of the world where is needed. I dont think this will have any economic impact as the profits are already taken, but we can contribute to increase the hope of life in some parts of Africa where people is suffering chronical famine.

The first world have the ways and means to end those episodes. It is a shame for all of us allow this to continue without act.How-The-World-Wastes-Food

World Languages

I’m writing in English, pero hablo español. The two laguages could be considered «lingua franca» in the western cultures.

I’ve seen this graphic several times, and I’m proud that the Spanish is the world most extended laguage after the Chinese, but… the English is the most influential due to the Internet and the technological advances of the anglo speaking countries. The fact that Spanish is now the de facto second laguage in the United States could change all of this.

The negative of this. There are thousands of laguages that will just disapear in the next few years. Even in sight of the Romantic Historicist strong fightingWorld Languages to save them…..

Marte.
